Questions Along The Way
About GENTLE Endo™
-
GENTLE Endo™ is a movement and education platform created to help individuals living with Endometriosis build trust in their bodies. Through classical Pilates, breathwork, nervous system regulation practices, and specialized education, GENTLE Endo™ offers a different approach to movement, one that adapts to your symptoms, respects your body's changing needs, and supports you through every stage of your journey.
Built around The GENTLE Method™, every session, program, educational resource, and conversation is designed to help you build greater confidence, consistency, and compassion in your relationship with your body. More than movement, GENTLE Endo™ is an invitation to return gently to yourself.
-
GENTLE Endo™ was created by Emily, a classical Pilates instructor whose work focuses on supporting individuals living with Endometriosis through movement. After being diagnosed with Stage IV Endometriosis, including Thoracic Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, Emily experienced firsthand how difficult it was to find movement that felt both comfortable and supportive. While navigating surgery, recovery, and her own symptoms, she recognized a gap between traditional fitness and the needs of those living with Endometriosis.
Combining her lived experience with comprehensive Pilates education, ongoing studies in breathwork, nervous system regulation, and women's health, Emily created The GENTLE Method™: a structured approach to movement designed specifically for the Endometriosis body.
GENTLE Endo™ was built from the belief that movement should help you reconnect with your body, not learn to push against it. It is an invitation to return gently to your body one movement, one breath, and one moment at a time.
-
GENTLE Endo™ combines specialized movement, education, and ongoing support into one integrated approach designed specifically for individuals living with Endometriosis.
Rather than treating movement as a one-size-fits-all solution, GENTLE Endo™ recognizes that symptoms, energy levels, recovery, and daily experiences are constantly changing. Through The GENTLE Method™, movement is adapted to your body, not the other way around.
Whether you're learning, recovering, returning, or simply moving through a difficult day, GENTLE Endo™ is designed to meet you where you are and support you as you return gently to yourself.
-
GENTLE isn't simply the name of the program. It's the philosophy behind everything at GENTLE Endo™. Living with Endometriosis often asks our bodies to endure more than they should. GENTLE Endo™ was created as an invitation to return with compassion rather than force. To move, breathe, and reconnect with your body in ways that support it rather than fight against it.
-
No. GENTLE Endo™ is not a medical treatment and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent Endometriosis or any other medical condition.
GENTLE Endo™ is an educational movement platform designed to complement, not replace, medical care. Through classical Pilates, breathwork, nervous system regulation, and specialized education, GENTLE Endo™ provides supportive movement that may help individuals navigate the physical and emotional challenges of living with Endometriosis.
Medical decisions, diagnosis, and treatment should always be made in partnership with your physician and healthcare team. GENTLE Endo™ encourages clients to follow their provider's recommendations and to move within any medical guidelines or restrictions they have been given.
-
No. GENTLE Endo™ is designed to work alongside your medical care, not replace it.
Endometriosis is a complex condition, and medical decisions should always be made in partnership with your physician and healthcare team. Through specialized movement, education, breathwork, and nervous system regulation, GENTLE Endo™ provides additional support to help you navigate life with Endometriosis while continuing the care recommended by your providers.
GENTLE Endo™ exists to complement your care, not replace it.
The GENTLE Method™
-
GENTLE Endo™ is rooted in the classical Pilates method developed by Joseph Pilates and taught through the lineage of Romana Kryzanowska. Sessions honor the integrity of the original system while thoughtfully adapting movement to support the unique needs of individuals living with Endometriosis.
Movement is the foundation of The GENTLE Method™. Rather than creating a new exercise system, GENTLE Endo™ builds upon the principles of classical Pilates using the full Gratz Pilates apparatus to support strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and confidence in the body.
Breathwork and nervous system regulation are thoughtfully integrated to complement movement, not replace it. These additional layers help create an experience that further supports both the body and nervous system while recognizing the changing nature of Endometriosis.
Every session is individualized, allowing movement to be adapted to your symptoms, recovery, energy levels, and where your body is on any given day.
-
No prior Pilates experience is required. Sessions are individualized and may include a variety of movement, pacing, breath awareness, mobility, nervous system practices and supportive movement approaches depending on each client’s needs and goals.
-
There isn't one "right" number.
The ideal frequency depends on your symptoms, stage of healing, energy levels, movement experience, goals, and how your body is responding over time.
For some individuals, two or three sessions each week may feel supportive. Others may benefit from shorter, gentler practices performed more frequently, while some seasons of life call for additional rest and recovery.
The GENTLE Method™ encourages consistency over intensity. A sustainable movement practice doesn't require doing more, it requires finding a rhythm that supports your body over time.
Together, we'll help you discover a pace of movement that feels supportive, realistic, and sustainable for your individual journey.
The goal isn't to move as often as possible.
The goal is to create a movement practice you can return to for years to come.
-
Pain doesn't automatically mean you shouldn't move. But it does mean we should listen.
Living with Endometriosis often means navigating a body whose needs change from day to day. Some days your body is ready to build strength. Other days it may need gentler movement, breath, rest, or simply permission to slow down.
At GENTLE Endo™, we don't believe in pushing through pain. We also don't believe that pain means movement is no longer possible. Instead, we work with your body to determine what feels supportive on that particular day.
Some sessions may focus on gentle mobility work. Others may emphasize breathwork, nervous system regulation, or gentle movement designed to reduce guarding and reconnect you with your body. On stronger days, sessions may progress into more challenging classical Pilates work.
The goal isn't to ignore your symptoms.
The goal is to build trust in your body while honoring what it is communicating.
Every session meets you where you are.
-
That's completely okay.
You do not need any prior experience with Pilates, or exercise in general, to begin GENTLE Endo™. Every session is designed to meet you where you are, whether you're new to movement, returning after surgery, navigating a flare, or building confidence in your body.
Rather than expecting you to keep up, GENTLE Endo™ introduces movement gradually, allowing you to learn at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable. Every exercise can be modified based on your symptoms, mobility, energy levels, and individual needs.
The goal isn't to become an experienced exerciser before you begin.
The goal is simply to begin.
One movement, one breath, and one moment at a time.
-
Yes. Sessions and individual exercises may be adapted based on symptoms, mobility needs, comfort levels, energy availability, nervous system responses, injuries, or accessibility needs. Modifications and pacing adjustments are normal parts of individualized movement support.
The GENTLE Journeys™
-
The GENTLE Journeys are four-week, small-group cohorts that bring The GENTLE Endo Method™ to life through guided movement, breathwork, nervous system regulation, education, and community support.
There are three Journeys, each designed around a different moment in the Endometriosis experience: GENTLE Prepare™ (before surgery), GENTLE Recover™ (after surgery), and GENTLE Move™ (an ongoing, sustainable relationship with movement).
-
Each Journey includes three guided movement practices per week, a weekly breathwork practice, a restorative practice, educational content, weekly reflections, and live group sessions. You'll also have access to a group chat with your cohort throughout the four weeks, and a private 1:1 GENTLE Session with Emily at the end of the Journey to help you carry what you've learned forward.
-
Each GENTLE Journey is $349.
-
GENTLE Prepare™ begins January 4th, 2027. Future Journeys will be announced as dates are confirmed.
-
Yes. Since Journeys run in small cohorts with limited space, joining the waitlist ensures you're among the first to know when registration opens.
-
Live sessions are an important part of the Journey experience, but life with Endometriosis doesn't always follow a schedule. If you're unable to attend a session, you're welcome to catch up by watching the recording saved within your cohort space on your own time.
-
Yes. Your group chat and all movement, breathwork, restorative, and educational content from your Journey remain yours to return to, even after the four weeks are complete.
-
Absolutely. Many people move through more than one Journey as their needs change, whether that's preparing for surgery, recovering afterward, or building an ongoing relationship with movement through GENTLE Move™.
The GENTLE Sessions
-
Yes. Most GENTLE Sessions are held virtually, allowing you to receive personalized support from the comfort of your own home.
Virtual sessions make it possible to continue your movement practice wherever you are while eliminating the need to travel on days when symptoms, fatigue, or recovery make leaving home difficult.
For those located in San Diego County, California, a limited number of in-home sessions are also available. House calls are offered based on location and availability and may include an additional travel fee.
Whether we meet virtually or in person, every session is individualized to your body, your goals, and where you are in your Endometriosis journey.
-
Yes. A limited number of in-person GENTLE Sessions are available through house calls within San Diego County, California.
In-home sessions allow you to receive personalized movement support in a familiar environment, eliminating the need to travel on days when symptoms, fatigue, or recovery make leaving home feel difficult.
House calls are offered based on location and availability and may include an additional travel fee.
For those outside the San Diego area, virtual sessions provide the same individualized approach and allow us to work together from anywhere. Every session is thoughtfully tailored to your body, your goals, and what you need that day.
-
Possibly.
Because GENTLE Sessions are intentionally limited to provide individualized care, appointment availability may vary throughout the year. If sessions are currently full, you're welcome to join the waitlist and you'll be contacted as openings become available.
While you wait, the GENTLE Journeys offer an opportunity to begin learning The GENTLE Method™ through small-group cohorts, allowing you to begin building your practice before private sessions become available.
Our goal is to provide thoughtful, sustainable care, not to overextend the availability of GENTLE Sessions.
-
Very little.
Most GENTLE Endo™ sessions can be completed with a small collection of supportive props, such as a yoga mat, pillows or a bolster, a small Pilates ball, light hand weights, and a Magic Circle. Many items can also be substituted with things you already have at home, such as towels, blankets, cushions, books, or water bottles.
You are never expected to purchase large amounts of equipment in order to participate. GENTLE Endo™ is designed to be accessible, adaptable, and supportive. Working with what you have rather than requiring a fully equipped Pilates studio.
If additional equipment would benefit your practice over time, recommendations will be provided gradually based on your goals, symptoms, and interests. Your body is the most important piece of equipment you'll ever bring. Everything else simply offers another way to support it. A complete Equipment Guide is available to help you build your collection at your own pace.
-
Very little preparation is needed.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move with ease, and if possible, choose a quiet space where you can move comfortably without interruptions. Having a yoga mat and any supportive props you own nearby can be helpful, but we'll always adapt based on what you have available.
Before each session, you'll also complete a brief GENTLE Endo™ Pre-Session Reflection. This short questionnaire helps us understand how you're feeling that day, including any symptoms, pain levels, energy, recent procedures, or changes since we last met.
This allows each session to begin with your body, not with a predetermined plan.
You don't need to push through symptoms or arrive having "done enough." Simply showing up honestly gives us the information we need to create a session that supports you where you are that day.
If you're experiencing a flare, recovering from surgery, feeling fatigued, or unsure what your body needs, that's completely okay. Your session will be adapted accordingly.
The goal isn't to prepare your body for the session.
The session is designed to meet your body exactly where it is.
-
Wear whatever feels most comfortable to you.
Soft, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely is ideal, but there is no dress code. Cotton items, or leggings, joggers, shorts, oversized T-shirts, sweatshirts, or layers are all welcome. The goal is for you to feel supported, not restricted.
Many people living with Endometriosis experience bloating, tenderness, or increased sensitivity throughout the month. If your most comfortable outfit changes from day to day, that's completely okay.
Whenever possible, movement is performed barefoot or in grip socks, depending on your comfort and the environment.
Most importantly, wear clothing that allows you to breathe, move, and feel at ease.
Comfort is always more important than appearance.
-
Sessions are designed to meet you where you are. Some days may involve less movement and more breathwork, nervous system regulation, education, or conversation. Every session is individualized to support your body that day.
-
GENTLE Sessions are offered in two lengths to fit different needs and schedules.
50-minute sessions:
Single session: $130
5-session package: $625
8-session package: $960
30-minute sessions:
Single session: $65
5-session package: $315
8-session package: $480
Not sure which length is right for you? We're always happy to help you decide based on your goals, symptoms, and what you're looking to get out of your sessions.
-
Both session lengths follow the same individualized approach; the right choice depends on your goals, energy, and what feels sustainable for you.
30-minute sessions can be a supportive option on lower-energy days, for shorter focused check-ins, a gentler option for post-op movement, or clients who want to ease into movement in a more bite-size way.
50-minute sessions allow more time to move through a fuller practice and work through more of what your body needs that day. If you're unsure which length fits you best, reach out and we'll help you decide.
Surgery Support
-
Absolutely.
In fact, many clients begin working with GENTLE Endo™ before surgery through GENTLE Prepare via The GENTLE Journeys, or private 1:1 work through The GENTLE Sessions.
Preparing for surgery isn't just about becoming stronger before your procedure. It's about helping you enter surgery feeling more informed, supported, and connected to your body.
Depending on your symptoms and comfort level, sessions may include gentle classical Pilates, breathwork, movement education, nervous system regulation, and strategies to help you prepare for recovery. Together, we'll focus on building confidence, understanding your body, and creating a foundation that supports your healing journey before surgery even begins.
Whether your surgery is a few weeks away or several months from now, we'll meet your body where it is and adapt each session to your individual needs.
Support doesn’t have to begin on the day of surgery. It can begin the moment you feel ready.
It begins the moment you feel supported.
-
Every surgery, and every recovery, is different.
The best time to begin movement depends on your procedure, your surgeon's recommendations, and how your body is healing. GENTLE Endo™ always encourages clients to follow their surgeon's postoperative guidelines and obtain clearance before beginning or returning to movement.
Once you've been cleared, GENTLE Recover™ is designed to help you return gradually and confidently. Sessions are individualized to your stage of healing and may include gentle movement, breathwork, nervous system regulation, mobility, and movement education, always progressing at a pace that feels appropriate for your recovery.
There is no expectation to return to where you were before surgery.
The goal is simply to begin building trust in your body. One movement, one breath, and one moment at a time.
-
Every recovery is unique, and movement after excision surgery depends on your individual healing, symptoms, and your surgeon's guidance.
GENTLE Endo™ is designed to support individuals recovering from Endometriosis surgery, including excision surgery, by introducing movement gradually and thoughtfully as healing progresses.
Before beginning movement, clients should receive clearance from their surgeon or healthcare provider. Once cleared, sessions are adapted to your symptoms, comfort level, mobility, and healing, progressing only as your body is ready.
Healing timelines vary from person to person. Your recovery will never be compared to someone else's or expected to follow a predetermined schedule.
The goal is never to rush recovery or return you to movement before your body is prepared.
The goal is to help you build confidence and trust in your body as you return to movement, one step at a time.
-
Your surgeon's recommendations always come first.
GENTLE Endo™ is designed to work alongside your medical care, not replace it. If your surgeon has specific postoperative guidelines or movement restrictions, every GENTLE Session and GENTLE Journey will be adapted to honor those recommendations while supporting your recovery.
If questions arise regarding your recovery or movement restrictions, you'll always be encouraged to communicate with your surgeon or healthcare team so your movement plan remains aligned with your medical care.
Movement is never progressed simply because time has passed. Instead, it progresses according to your surgeon's recommendations, your stage of healing, your symptoms, and how your body is responding throughout recovery.
Healing is not one-size-fits-all.
Your movement should never be either.
-
Absolutely.
Surgery is not a requirement to participate in GENTLE Endo™.
While GENTLE Prepare™ and GENTLE Recover™ are designed to support individuals before and after surgery, GENTLE Endo™ was created to support people living with Endometriosis at every stage of their journey, including those who are managing symptoms without surgery, exploring treatment options, newly diagnosed, or simply looking for movement that feels more supportive.
Whether surgery is part of your story or not, every session and program is adapted to your individual needs, symptoms, goals, and where your body is today.
The GENTLE Method™ isn't built around surgery.
It's built around supporting the person living with Endometriosis.
Endometriosis
-
GENTLE Endo™ was created specifically for individuals living with Endometriosis.
Every movement program, educational resource, and private session is built around the unique challenges of navigating Endometriosis. This includes fluctuating symptoms, surgery, recovery, pain, fatigue, nervous system regulation, and building trust in the body.
Many members also live with additional conditions such as Adenomyosis, PMOS / PCOS, pelvic pain, hypermobility, POTS, or other chronic health conditions. While GENTLE Endo™ is not designed to treat these conditions individually. Movement is always adapted to support your whole body, not just a diagnosis.
If you do not have Endometriosis but feel drawn to this approach, you're still welcome here. However, the education, language, and programs are intentionally centered around the Endometriosis experience.
GENTLE Endo™ was built with one community at its heart.
Everyone is welcomed with care, but everything is designed through the lens of Endometriosis.
-
Many individuals living with Endometriosis also have Adenomyosis, and you're absolutely welcome here.
While Endometriosis and Adenomyosis are different conditions, they often share many of the same challenges, including pelvic pain, fatigue, bloating, nervous system dysregulation, and the need for movement that adapts to changing symptoms rather than pushing through them.
GENTLE Endo™ is designed to honor those changing needs. Every session and program can be modified based on your symptoms, comfort level, energy, and stage of healing, allowing movement to support your body rather than work against it.
Although GENTLE Endo™ is not a medical treatment for Adenomyosis, many of the principles of The GENTLE Method™ including individualized classical Pilates, breathwork, nervous system regulation, and thoughtful pacing, may feel supportive for individuals navigating both conditions.
Your diagnosis may have more than one name.
Your body still deserves movement that meets it with care.
-
Yes.
Many members of the GENTLE Endo™ community are also navigating PMOS (formerly known as PCOS) alongside Endometriosis or other chronic health conditions.
While GENTLE Endo™ was created specifically through the lens of Endometriosis, The GENTLE Method™ is rooted in individualized movement, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Sessions and programs are adapted to meet your body where it is, taking into consideration your symptoms, energy levels, goals, and overall well-being.
Although GENTLE Endo™ is not designed to treat PMOS/PCOS, many individuals find that gentle, consistent movement, breathwork, and nervous system regulation can become supportive pieces of a broader care plan developed alongside their healthcare team.
Whether you're navigating Endometriosis, PMOS/PCOS, or both, you'll always be encouraged to move with your body, not against it.
Your health journey is unique.
Your movement practice should be too.
-
Yes.
Many individuals who join GENTLE Endo™ are living with ongoing pelvic pain. In fact, The GENTLE Method™ was created with the understanding that movement should adapt to your body, not ask your body to ignore what it's feeling.
Sessions and programs are individualized based on your symptoms, comfort level, stage of healing, and how you're feeling that day. On some days, that may mean a traditional Pilates session. On others, it may look more like gentle mobility, breathwork, nervous system regulation, education, or simply creating a starting point for movement again.
Pain is never treated as something to push through or overcome. Instead, it's viewed as valuable information that helps guide how we approach movement together.
The goal is not to force your body to do more.
The goal is to help you build a relationship with movement that feels supportive, sustainable, and grounded in trust over time.
Your body is already communicating with you.
Movement should begin by listening.
-
Absolutely.
Your menstrual cycle is a normal part of life, and GENTLE Endo™ is designed to support you through every phase of it.
Many individuals notice that their symptoms, energy levels, mobility, and comfort change throughout their cycle. Rather than expecting movement to look the same every day, GENTLE Endo™ recognizes these natural fluctuations and adapts accordingly.
Some days you may feel ready for a more active classical Pilates session. Other days, your body may benefit more from gentle mobility, breathwork, nervous system regulation, restorative movement, or simply slowing down.
There is never an expectation to push through pain or force movement that doesn't feel supportive.
Instead, we'll work with your body, honoring what it needs on that particular day.
Your cycle is one of the many ways your body communicates with you.
Movement begins by listening.
-
Flare days are expected, not failures. Sessions may be adjusted based on symptoms, energy availability, mobility needs, or comfort levels. Rest, pacing, modifications, and slower movement options are considered normal parts of sessions at GENTLE Endo™.
-
You're welcome here.
Many individuals living with Endometriosis also experience hypermobility or hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), and movement often benefits from an individualized approach that emphasizes quality, stability, and body awareness over flexibility or range of motion.
Every GENTLE Session and GENTLE Journey can be adapted based on your mobility, comfort level, symptoms, and individual needs. Rather than encouraging movement simply because it is available, The GENTLE Method™ focuses on building control, strength, coordination, and confidence through thoughtful, intentional movement.
If you've been advised to follow specific movement recommendations or precautions by your healthcare team, those guidelines will always be respected throughout your sessions.
While GENTLE Endo™ is not designed to treat hypermobility or hEDS, movement is always adapted to support your whole body and your individual needs.
Every body moves differently.
Your movement practice should honor the body you have, not the body you're expected to have.
-
You're welcome here.
GENTLE Endo™ was created with the understanding that Endometriosis can affect far more than the pelvis. Every person's experience is unique, and for some individuals, that includes thoracic Endometriosis.
Movement is always individualized based on your symptoms, medical history, stage of healing, comfort level, and your healthcare team's recommendations. Sessions may be adapted to account for breathing comfort, rib and thoracic mobility, energy levels, surgical recovery, or other factors that influence how your body feels on a given day.
If you've undergone thoracic surgery or have specific movement restrictions, those recommendations will always be respected, and movement will progress gradually as your body is ready.
While GENTLE Endo™ does not treat thoracic Endometriosis, it provides a supportive movement approach designed to work alongside your medical care while honoring the unique experience of living with this condition.
Your Endometriosis story may be uncommon.
Your movement deserves to be understood with the same care.
-
You're welcome here.
Bowel Endometriosis can present unique challenges, and no two experiences are exactly alike. Whether you're managing digestive symptoms, recovering from surgery, or navigating changes in comfort, movement can be adapted to support your body's individual needs.
Every GENTLE Session and GENTLE Journey are thoughtfully individualized based on your symptoms, stage of healing, energy levels, comfort, and your healthcare team's recommendations. Movement is always progressed gradually and never at the expense of how your body is feeling.
If you've undergone bowel surgery or have specific postoperative restrictions, those recommendations will always be respected, allowing movement to evolve alongside your recovery.
While GENTLE Endo™ does not treat bowel Endometriosis, it provides a supportive movement approach designed to complement your medical care while recognizing the unique ways Endometriosis can affect the body.
Every Endometriosis journey is different.
Your movement should honor your unique experience, not ask you to fit someone else's.
-
Although GENTLE Endo™ was created specifically for individuals living with Endometriosis, many members also navigate additional chronic health conditions or autoimmune diseases.
Because every session and program is individualized, movement can often be adapted to support changing energy levels, mobility, comfort, and overall well-being while remaining within your healthcare team's recommendations.
GENTLE Endo™ is not designed to diagnose, treat, or manage chronic illness or autoimmune conditions. However, individuals who appreciate a slower, more supportive, and adaptable approach to movement may find The GENTLE Method™ to be a meaningful complement to their existing medical care.
If you're unsure whether GENTLE Endo™ is appropriate for your individual circumstances, we're always happy to help you determine whether the program is the right fit.
